Sep 2, 2021 | 12:56 PM

Officials with Alberta’s Emergency Management Agency say a telephone service alert issued for all of Alberta and British Columbia at 12:33 p.m. on Thursday, is no longer in effect.

The original alert indicated an incident that affected telephone and cell phone communications for all of Alberta, including wireless voice and data services.

The outage impacted Alberta and British Columbia, however, 911 calling was not affected.

Wireless devices services may not have worked to contact help if there was an Emergency. As a result, Albertans were encouraged to check all communication for a signal, including landlines and cell phones.
