Red Deer swimmer Tammy Cunnington earns personal second-best time at Paralympic Games
Red Deer Para swimmer Tammy Cunnington has completed her second race at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
On Aug. 31, Cunnington competed in the Women’s 50m Breaststroke S3. The Rio 2016 veteran from the Red Deer Catalina Swim Club, ranked 13 in her heat, with a time of 1:17.94.
The result means Cunnington did not advance to her respective final.
She Tweeted on Sunday however, that a podium spot was never in the cards for her during this event. Cunnington noted that her focus was on racing as well as she could and representing Canada with honour and integrity.
