Piper Creek crossing options down to one: collector road from Molly Banister Drive to 22 Street
Red Deer City Council has passed third reading on an amendment to reduce the potential roadway crossing Piper Creek between Molly Banister Drive and 22 Street from an arterial roadway to a collector roadway.
This was done following an extensive public hearing on Aug. 30.
Council gave first reading to amendments to the Municipal Development Plan and the East Hill Major Area Structure Plan on July 19, 2021. This amendment would see two optional locations of a potential future roadway crossing over Piper Creek: Molly Banister Drive and Bennet Street.
If built, the roadway would be built as a four-lane collector roadway.
