Traffic disruptions on 51 Avenue from 53 Street to 45 Street

Red Deer motorists and pedestrians are being advised of upcoming traffic disruptions as crews work to complete roadway improvements along 51 Ave., southbound from 53 Street to 45 Street.

City officials say the milling has been completed and the paving is scheduled for Aug. 28 and Aug. 29 during the day from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.. The road will remain open during paving, however traffic will be limited to one lane only, therefore delays should be expected and alternative routes should be considered.

Signs are placed to notify drivers of detours and closures as they occur. Those behind the wheel are reminded to slow down when driving in construction zones and obey all signs. Pedestrians are reminded to cross only at designated crosswalks.

All road construction is weather dependent and schedules may be subject to change.
