Meet and Greet with Olympic silver medalist Rebecca Smith

Aug 25, 2021 | 9:53 AM

Central Albertans are being invited to enjoy a meet and greet with Olympic silver medalist and Red Deer native, Rebecca Smith on Wednesday.

Back from the Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo recently, Smith will be at the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. to meet with fans and proudly display her new hardware, earned as part of Team Canada’s 4×100 metre freestyle relay swim team.

Smith, now 21, once competed as a member of the Red Deer Catalina Swim Club where she dominated in the pool.

Her talents, ambition, and dream to one day be a part of the Olympics, took her to Toronto to train at the High-Performance Centre. There, Smith trained as a 16-year-old with her team for the next five years, living at a billet’s house and getting one step closer to achieving her lifelong dream of being part of Team Canada.
