Vehicle hits moose on Hwy 2A near Penhold

A motor vehicle collision Thursday near Penhold could have turned out much worse.

Penhold Fire Department says the crash, between a vehicle and a moose, happened just before 11 p.m., northbound on Hwy 2A and just north of town.

Four occupants in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries and did not require transport to hospital. The fire department adds that the animal was deceased on scene.

The northbound lane of Hwy 2A was closed for about 90 minutes.
