Shaun Sutter named Rebels associate general manager

The Red Deer Rebels have named Shaun Sutter as the team’s new associate general manager.

The new role is a promotion from assistant GM/director of player personnel, which Sutter took on in 2013. He began with the team in 2011 as a senior scout.

Sutter played four seasons in the WHL (’97-’01) with the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Medicine Hat Tigers and Calgary Hitmen.

He was a fourth round selection of the Calgary Flames in the 1998 NHL Draft. He played eight seasons of pro hockey, most recently in Europe in 2009.

Sutter was also an assistant coach with the Regina Pats from ’09-’11, and joined the Rebels coaching staff for the final part of the shortened 2021 season.
