Possible assault leaves 60-year-old in Red Deer hospital

Red Deer RCMP are investigating a possible assault.

The detachment says they received a complaint about an aggravated assault at about 12:50 p.m. on July 28.

The complaint stated an assault had occurred in a local park near Papa Baldy’s Pizza on 50 Avenue, near 55 Street.

Police say a 60-year-old male who appeared to have been a victim of an assault was hospitalized for severe head and chest injuries. He remains in hospital in serious condition.

It’s currently unknown who the attacker was or where exactly the assault took place.
