Wagons at Westerner “exceeded all expectations”

Three days of chuckwagon racing at Westerner Park exceeded expectations, organizers say.

Over the three days, attendance totalled 5,083, with Saturday being the best attended with 2,286 fans.

“It was great to bring together thousands for the Wagons at Westerner. Seeing so many of our familiar faces come back to work and seeing the community excited to be here was an awesome feeling,” said Mike Olesen, Chief Executive Officer, Westerner Park. “Congratulations goes out to so many for this event as it took a team to pull it off.”

The event was host to the North American Pony Chuckwagon Championships, which are normally held during the cancelled Westerner Days.

Drivers competed from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and even the U.S.
