50,138 Red Deerians fully vaccinated

Red Deer is flat at 17 active cases of COVID-19 as of Tuesday, according to the latest numbers from the province.

The city added zero new cases (5,791 to-date) and zero new recoveries (5,731) in the last 24 hours.

Red Deer’s death toll stemming from COVID-19 remains 43, with the last one reported July 6.

The Central Zone as a whole has 50 active cases as of Tuesday, up three. There are seven hospitalizations, the same as yesterday, and zero people in ICU at Red Deer Regional Hospital, also the same as yesterday. The Central Zone has had 170 deaths linked to COVID-19, with none reported today.

PROVINCIAL NUMBERS

Across Alberta, another 69 cases of COVID-19 were announced Tuesday out of 5,010 test results for a seven day positivity rate of 0.88 per cent, up 0.06 in the last day.

Active cases across the province are up one to 606. It’s the fourth consecutive data dump with an increase in that category.

There are 98 Albertans hospitalized due to the virus, down two, including 27 in intensive care, the same as Monday.

Two new deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported in the past day bringing the province’s total to 2,318.

Of Alberta’s 12+ population, 74.8 per cent has received at least one dose (63.7% total population), while 60.2 per cent of the 12+ population is now fully vaccinated (51.2% total population). A total of 5,078,635 doses have been administered.

In Red Deer, 60,467 (65.9% eligible/56.8% total) people have received at least one dose, up 68 over the last three days. Meanwhile, 50,138 residents (54.7%/47.1%) are fully vaccinated, up 321.
