Home sales stay strong in Red Deer in June

Home sales in Red Deer continued to remain strong in June.

According to the latest figures from Central Alberta Realtors Association, 205 units were sold last month, up from 197 in May.

In fact, it’s the highest number of home sales in June for Red Deer in the past five years and compares to 121 units sold in June 2020.

Year-to-date numbers show 1,047 units sold in the city since January 1, compared with 506 units sold in the first half of last year.

The average sale price in Red Deer last month was $327,269. That’s down from $348,752 in May, but up from $321,438 in June 2020.

On average, it took 54 days for a home to sell in Red Deer last month. That compares with 45 days in May and 61 days in June 2020.

For the entire central Alberta market, 733 units were sold in June. That compares with 737 units sold in May and 460 in June of last year.

Year-to-date numbers show 3,693 units sold throughout the region so far, up from 1,715 units sold at this point last year.

The average sale price of a home sold throughout central Alberta last month was $344,663. That compares with $360,818 in May and $308,673 in June 2020.

On average, it took 75 days to sell a home in central Alberta in June. That compares with 73 days in May and 103 days in June 2020.
