Cosmos launches employment program for those facing barriers

Cosmos Group of Companies is offering a new program to help get people facing barriers back to work.

Cosmos Employment Connection (CEC) was launched in response to the devastating economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization says.

“Many Albertans are experiencing stress, unemployment, and difficulty securing work due to increased workforce competition. In an effort to alleviate this stress on central Albertans, Cosmos Community Support Services is offering the Cosmos Employment Connection (CEC) program,” a release states.

“This six-week program offers job seekers career and life skills training, computer skills training, safety training, and several job shadowing opportunities. The CEC program will run until November 2021, with the next upcoming session starting Monday, July 19, 2021.”

CEC is funded by the Government of Alberta, and is open to individuals who self-identify as facing barriers to employment.
