Zero new COVID deaths, Red Deer up to 19 active cases

Red Deer now sits at 19 active cases of COVID-19, up three from Thursday.

The city’s total number of recorded cases is up four to 5,780, while recoveries went up one to 5,718.

Red Deer’s death toll stemming from COVID-19 remains 43, with the last one reported July 6.

On the vaccination front, 59,634 (65.1% of eligible and 56.0% of all) Red Deerians have now received at least one dose, up 95. Of those, 45,247 (49.4%/42.5%) are fully immunized with two doses, up 800.

Comparatively, across the province, 4,777,367 vaccine doses have now been delivered as of July 8, with 73.9 per cent of eligible Albertans (62.8% of entire population) having received at least one dose. Meantime, 53.1 per cent of those eligible are now fully immunized, equal to 45.2 per cent of the entire population.

PROVINCIAL NUMBERS

Across Alberta, another 52 cases of COVID-19 were announced Friday out of 7,300 tests. That makes for a seven-day positivity rate of ~0.94 per cent.

Active cases across the province are down to 675, a one-day decline of 22.

There are 126 Albertans hospitalized due to the virus, down seven, including 35 in intensive care, down up three.

Zero new deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported in the past day, leaving the provincial total at 2,307.
