RCMP Major Crimes Unit lays charges in murder, arson investigation
Three central Alberta men are facing charges following a fatal fire in the County of Wetaskiwin last week.
On June 23, just after 7:30 a.m. Wetaskiwin RCMP were called to a structure fire on a rural property in the Usona district of the County of Wetaskiwin.
The RCMP Major Crimes Unit responded and on June 24, human remains were located at the property. An autopsy was completed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton on June 25. However, the results of the autopsy are still pending.
Linden Buffalo, 31, and Jake Green, 36, both of Maskwacis, and as well as Donovan Lightning, 28, of Wetaskiwin, have been charged with the murder of Clifford Stauffer and arson with disregard for human life.
