Drayton Valley RCMP Weekly Report: June 10-16

June 10

4:12 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Report of a copper wire theft, members made patrols of the area but no suspects located.

4:29 a.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 495 – Report of a copper wire theft, members made patrols of the area but no suspects located.

9:46 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd. – Report of an unwanted male at the EconoRest. Members attended and spoke with the building manager. Further investigation revealed that the building manager had not served proper eviction notice and was hoping the RCMP would coerce the tenant into leaving. Building manager advised to go through the proper Landlord/Tennant procedure.

10:29 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Report from AHS workers at the COVID vaccination building advising that there was a male there protesting the COVID vaccination. Male provided the AHS workers a cease and desist order advising that the vaccinations are killing people. No threats made, no criminal offence occurred

12:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 48A Ave – Complainant reporting that his new neighbour is committing mischief. The new neighbour has a chain and zip ties attached to the corner post of the shared fence. Member attended the location and asked the new tenant about the chain and zip ties, tenant advised that the landlord put the chains and zip ties on the post. Tenant will talk to the landlord about the situation.

1:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 55 St – Report of a collision between an SUV and a water truck. No injuries.

3:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd. – Members conducting patrols observed a parked vehicle and what he believed was a drug transaction in process. The member conducted a traffic stop with the suspect vehicle. The member observed the female driver trying to hide a meth pipe. Both female occupants in the vehicle were arrested. The vehicle was searched, crack cocaine and fentanyl were located. Two females were charged with possession of a controlled substance and released to appear later in court.

8:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd. – Request for RCMP to assist with disciplining a youth. Youth was refusing to get in the mothers vehicle. Members attend location. Youth was now in the vehicle and mother advised that she no longer needed assistance. Member spoke to the youth about his behaviour.

8:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 Ave – Report of a blood looking substance in the envelope slot. The substance is dripping out of the parcel box. Member attended location the substance was not blood. The substance had the consistency of jam and tasted like strawberries.

June 11

1:13 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Petro-Can South – Report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot. DV towing was going to tow the vehicle but there were sketchy people standing around the vehicle. Member attended the location vehicle was not stolen. Nothing criminal.

8:02 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Report of a homeless man sleeping in the BMO foyer. Members attended the location but the male had left location already.

3:05 p.m. – Brazeau County – Violet Grove – Report of loud music coming from his neighbour. Member attended the location and spoke to the rowdy neighbour.

4:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – RCMP Detachment – Report of a single vehicle motorcycle accident. Male rider was exiting RCMP parking lot and slid on loose gravel causing him to loose control and tip over. EMS attended scene and transported male driver to the hospital.

4:48 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Report of mischief to a vehicle. Still under investigation.

5:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 55 St – Report of an intoxicated male refusing to leave residence. Male was looking for his sons bouncy ball that went over the fence. Complainant advised that he threw the ball back over the fence. Members attended the location and calmed everyone down. No crime occurred

6:10 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Centre Court – Report of angry male throwing items around his back yard and yelling. Members attended location and spoke to the male who advised that he was having a bad day. No crime occurred.

7:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – RCMP received multiple calls advising that a male was uttering threats. Members attended the location. No criminal offence. The male challenged two females to a consensual fistfight.

8:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Skate Park – Complainant reporting she heard there was a gun at the skate park. Complainant didn’t actually see any gun but a group of kids took off running and the complainant heard a passing youth mention a gun. Members attended the location and made extensive foot patrols but could not locate any firearm

9:19 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Report of a possible intoxicated driver heading towards Violet Grove. Members made patrols but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

9:26 p.m. – Drayton Valley – St. Anthony’s School – Report of a group of kids smashing a plastic car against the side of the school. Members attended the location. The kids had found the plastic car in the dumpster and were trying to play basketball with it. The car was stuck in the basketball hoop. The kids were able to free the car from the hoop. The kids apologized to the members and went home.

10:25 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a two vehicle MVC, no injuries. Members attended location. Investigation determined that a vehicle on Twp Rd 502 ran the stop sign and hit a vehicle on Hwy 22.

11:42 p.m. – Brazeau County – Report of a single vehicle ATV rollover. Members attended the location. Female driver rolled the ATV down a dirt bank. Female transported to Edmonton by STARS air ambulance.

June 12

2:34 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 Ave – Commercial Alarm – glass break and motion. Members attended the location. Building was secure, false alarm.

4:10 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Centre Court Trailer Court – Report of an assault with a weapon. Complainant and three friends were bear maced by four unknown males. Members attended the location. Three of the four victims refused to provide any details. Preliminary investigation shows the assault was over illicit drug dispute. Investigation continuing.

7:27 a.m.- Brazeau County – Hwy 13 – Request from Breton RCMP to assist with patrols. Report that complainant has a red car following him and trying to ram him off the road. Complainant is regularly involved in criminal activity and believes it might be a know criminal associated that is following him. Patrols made vehicle not located.

8:37 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – MVC with deer. Vehicle is still drivable; deer is injured and needed to be put down. Members attended location and dispatched the injured deer.

11:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Report of a male acting suspicious. Member attended the location and spoke to the complainant who advised that the subject was rude to him when he asked him why he had not been fired from his job yet. Complainant just wanted the RCMP to be aware that the subject was rude to him.

12:34 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Report that a vehicle had passed the complainant on the shoulder of the Hwy when the complainant was near the construction zone. Complainant just wanted the suspect driver spoken to about their driving behaviour. Member located suspect driver and talked to him about his driving behavior.

2:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Members patrolling area located a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Licence plate was check and found to not match the vehicle. Members seized the plate.

3:22 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Ave – Report of a domestic assault. Complainant reporting that his ex-girlfriend punched him in the face when he went to her residence. Members attended the location. Complainant was at the residence wanting his ex-girlfriend charged. Police records checks showed that complainant Dustin LANGE was on conditions to have no contact with his ex-girlfriend. LANGE arrested and held for a telephone hearing on charges of breaching his conditions. LANGE was subsequently released by a Justice of the Peace

5:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Report of a possible domestic assault. Third party reporting concern for her adult daughter. Members attended location. No assault took place, spousal argument.

6:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Report of an identity fraud. Complainant advised that someone has used photos from her Instagram account and posted them on OnlyFans. Member spoke to the complainant and advised her to report it to the originating website.

11:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Report of a possible impaired driver on a motorcycle. Member patrolled the area but was not able to locate the motorcycle.

11:47 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Report of fireworks going off in the parking lot. Members attended the location and located small children running around with sparklers. Member spoke to the father of the children who advised that he had set off some fireworks.

June 13

9:17 a.m. – Tomahawk – 50 Ave – Report that complainant’s husband had smashed a window and has called the complainant names. Members attended location and found that the male had left.

10:36 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/North Sask Bridge – Complainant reported hitting a deer. Member attended.

2:14 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver in a black Jeep, swerving into traffic, stopping at green lights etc. Patrols made, vehicle not located, info forwarded to neighbouring detachment

2:46 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a family member depressed, left home with a firearm. Members investigated, male located when he returned home. Male confirmed he needed help and was taken to hospital and detained under the Mental Health Act

3:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Complainant reported suspects had attempted to steal his truck from a parking lot. Suspect left when the owner came out. Members attended, plate on suspect’s vehicle stolen from Edmonton. Patrols failed to locate the suspect vehicle, which was recovered later in Rimbey’s area. Under investigation

3:49 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 510 – Complainant reported a white Dodge truck with a blue dirtbike in the back sped by her house. Patrols were made but no similar vehicle located.

4:55 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Hospital staff reported a male patient had left. Members followed up with the male to confirm he was okay but had no power to return him to care

6:40 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported ex not complying with custody order. Members investigated, no police enforcement clause on order, other issues going on within the family causing concerns and a reluctance to follow the order

7:02 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported not hearing from adult daughter for 24 hours, was concerned. Members contacted the daughter and then attended a location, confirming the female was okay.

9:00 p.m. – Brazeau County – Riverside Trails – Complainant requested assistance as their horses were exhausted and wouldn’t cross the river. Member attended and assisted as needed

June 14

2:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Staff reported a male with apparent mental health concerns had left against advice. Members were unable to locate the male, Breton advised as he is believed to reside in their area. At time of call police had no grounds to return the male, only to speak to him had he been located.

2:35 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Fas Gas – Members on patrol conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle due to a mismatched plate. Investigation resulted in a male being arrested and held for a hearing on a number of new charges including drug possession and possession of stolen property

8:43 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a tanker truck driving erratically, then pulling over roadside. Patrols were made but the truck had left

10:31 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported in Grande Prairie that he had struck a deer and damaged his vehicle near Drayton Valley

11:39 a.m. – Brazeau County – Rocky Rapids area – Complainant reported threatening text messages from a relative. Member investigated, no charges to result

12:14 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported neighbour being confrontational. Member attended, ongoing neighbour dispute regarding property line issues. Police have been unable to formulate a lasting resolution

1:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a client in the Drayton Valley area had made some troubling comments while on a phone call regarding her mental health. Member was able to contact the female who was in Red Deer at the time dealing with some car purchase issues, had been having a bad day but was fine

2:48 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a suspicious female using bathroom facilities in a business, possibly high. Member attended but the female and her vehicle were gone

3:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported multiple youth in the area who may be smoking cannabis. Member attended and spoke to the likely suspects. No marijuana was found and no tell tale odour was detected

4:53 p.m. – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported his wife missing. Complainant subsequently called back having located his wife and advised police were not required

5:06 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver in a silver late model GM truck, truck is all over the road. Complainant advised truck was last seen on Hwy 39 toward Breton. Breton RCMP advised

9:38 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 493 – Complainant requested members check on a family memberr who may be having mental health issues and suffering drug withdrawal. Members located the female and detained her under the Mental Health Act but released her after determining she appeared sober and calm and had no plans to harm herself

11:44 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/North Sask Bridge – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver, light coloured sedan all over the road, driving slowly. Last seen turning in by the work trailers. Member made patrol of the area but the car was not located

8:29 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported receiving threats from a male who he suspected was the boyfriend of a relative. Both parties spoken to, complainant requested no charges, suspect claimed the complainant had said worse things due to a family dispute.

8:35 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant reported hitting a deer and damaging his truck

8:58 a.m. – Drayton Valley – assist other agency by adding an arrest warrant to police database

9:38 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Emergency Protection Order obtained locally, served by Edmonton Police

10:12 a.m. – Brazeau County – Members attended a residence to assist paramedics, female transported to hospital

11:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his vehicle damaged while parked in a parking lot. Hit and run, no plate obtained or witnesses

11:05 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reports break and enter and theft to rural business yard. Building entered, large amount of copper wire stolen

1:31 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 485 – Complainant reported a damaged gun safe in the ditch. Safe retrieved, under investigation, possibly related to break and enter in another jurisdiction

2:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Complainant reported a hit and run that occurred while her vehicle was unattended at gas pumps

3:32 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male with several outstanding warrants at a location. Members attended and located and arrested the male who was held for a bail hearing

3:46 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting some assistance as she has a tenant to be evicted and she’s unable to reach her contracted property manager. Advice given, not a police matter

5:26 p.m. – Drayton Valley – file opened to assist BC RCMP in serving a Summons. The male involved was confirmed to be residing in Calgary, information forwarded

11:57 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 502/RR72 – Complainant reported a suspicious truck in the area, turning the lights on when a vehicle went by. Members patrolled the area but the truck wasn’t located

June 16

3:01 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complaint from a taxi driver who got in a dispute over a female not paying her fare. A male came to the passenger’s aide, and as a result the driver took his longboard, and the male took drivers phone. Still under investigation, though the longboard and phone are both believed to have been returned

7:54 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that his rental vehicle was broken into overnight and a water sampling instrument was stolen. Under investigation

8:19 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reports someone entered his fenced yard, went into a company truck and stole various tools with a value of approximately $2000. Under investigation

8:35 am – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported a female she was supposed to drive to Edmonton wasn’t answering the door, requested a wellbeing check. Prior to attending the complainant called back to advise she had made contact and all was fine

10:09 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reported hitting a deer, damaging her vehicle

1:28 p.m. – Drayton Valley – DV Christian School – hangup 911 call received. Member attended and found paramedics on scene for medical issue, police not required

2:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – RCMP – file opened to document receipt of a nonsensical letter

3:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Madsen Ave – Complainant reported someone entered her residence, took prescription medications and left a bouquet of flowers. Under investigation
