Lacombe County residents should expect property assessments and tax notices soon

Jun 13, 2021 | 9:00 AM

Lacombe County residents should soon be receiving their property assessments and tax notices.

Those documents were mailed out this week. The County says if you don’t receive yours by July 15, contact the County office at 403-782-6601.

“We encourage ratepayers to be proactive and make sure they have received their tax notice from Lacombe County,” said Michael Minchin, Director of Corporate Services. “The property tax payment deadline is September 30, 2021, and penalties will be applied after this date.”

Appeals are allowed and the date to do so by is on your notice of assessment.

A per parcel fee will be charged for people making complaints against assessments, the County notes. If the Assessment Review Board decides in favour of the complainant, the fee will be refunded.

“Like other online bill payments, there may be a processing delay for online tax payments, so people who plan to pay their taxes through electronic banking should not to leave it until the last minute,” Minchin said. “To avoid all penalties, tax payments must be received by last business day in September.”

Among other payment options, the County offers a Tax Installment Payment Plan. Otherwise, the options include:
