Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery summer camps are back

Wait no more! The Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery summer camps are back.

The MAG is offering in-person and virtual summer camp options from July 5, 2021, to August 13, 2021.

The more options, the better; these summer camps also have three different groups based on age; each group includes different weekly activities/themes.

Join us for a summer filled with guest artists, virtual studio tours, and outdoor games, trips to the nearby splash park, museum activities, art projects and more. Make it a summer camp experience to remember.

The weekly guest artist offers more advanced art projects and provides a new perspective and new energy for the kids.”

For Ages 6-12 in person camp details are as follows:

  • Weekly Activities/ Themes- Playful Prairie, Creative Narratives, Funny Folk Art, Prairie Art, and Everyday Modern Memories
  • Camps run from 9am-4pm
  • $175 per week MAG members
  • $200 per week regular
  • Supplies included

These week-long summer camps offer your child a fun way to meet new friends and experience hands-on activities in a museum / gallery setting while maintaining safe social distancing.

Students will create numerous artworks, learn to explore artifacts, experience our Log School House, and more – all within our COVID-19 protocols.

*In the event we are unable to run these camps in-person due to COVID-19 restrictions, they will move to an online format. More details coming soon.

For Ages 13-17, virtual camp details are as follows:

  • Weekly Activities/ Themes- Surrealist Sandwich and more
  • Camps run from 1pm-4pm
  • $75 per week MAG members
  • $100 per week regular
  • Supplies not included
  • Single-day attendance option available

Developed especially for Teens! These virtual camps will offer icebreaker games, the exploration of museum artifacts, history fun facts, and gallery tours. Log into the museum virtually and create art projects with our artistic leaders along with a special guest artist each week.

In order to limit physical interaction with our administrative staff, we ask that all camp registration forms are completed and returned to the museum a minimum of 3 business days prior to the camp start date.
