Red Deer RCMP arrest two break and enter suspects
Two central Alberta men are facing numerous charges after police foiled a break-in in progress where the suspects smashed through the front entrance of a gas station in an attempt to steal an ATM.
It happened shortly before 3:00 a.m. on May 18, when Red Deer RCMP members responded to an alarm at a gas station in north Red Deer. Upon their arrival, officers observed that a truck had smashed through the front entrance of the gas station and the suspects attempting to remove an ATM.
Mounties say two male suspects fled in the vehicle upon police arrival. However, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into another business in the Northlands Industrial Park, where they then fled on foot.
Police Dog Services was dispatched and were able to track the suspects. The two men were located and arrested on top of a nearby commercial building.
