Central Alberta Victim & Witness Support Society launches major fundraising campaign

“Any one of us could become a victim or witness of crime and tragedy at any given time and be faced with an overwhelming, emotional and difficult road ahead,” says Executive Director, Gloria Derksen, in a press release, adding that the team at CAVWSS is there to walk along beside clients on their road to recovery.

The organization relies heavily on funding and direct financial contributions from donors and sponsorships in order to provide services for cases such as homicide, family/domestic violence, sexual assault, physical assault, armed robbery/robbery, theft, fraud, break & enter, vandalism, serious motor vehicle collisions, sudden death/next of kin notifications, suicides, fire/multi-casualty disasters and school crisis.

“You can help make a difference. Whether you are in a position to make a financial donation, corporate sponsorship, a gift-in-kind, a gift card for food/clothing/travel etcetera, we invite you to take part in our campaign. Our team will work with you to determine a plan that fits you and/or your business or organization,” says Fund Development Coordinator, Amber Casey.
