Bridges Community Living receives $24,000 from New Horizons for Seniors Program
Bridges Community Living received some great news after being notified that their application for a $24,000 New Horizons for Seniors grant was approved.
The program entitled “Communicating with the Outside World” will feature twenty-two educational sessions for residents of Bridges Community Living and members of the Golden Circle on topics such as Zoom, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media programs.
The New Horizons for Seniors Program is a federal grant that provides funding for senior’s projects that make a difference in the lives in their communities.
“This is a funding stream through the federal government that focuses on enhancing the quality of life for seniors across the country and in local communities,” said Geoff Olson, Executive Director for Bridges Community Living. Funding received from New Horizons for Seniors Program will allow accessibility for numerous seniors in Red Deer to learn up to date technical skills to communicate with their families, friends, government agencies, and other social media outlets.
