Sylvan Lake RCMP investigate drive-by shooting

RCMP have launched an investigation into a drive-by shooting in Sylvan Lake early Thursday morning.

It happened on May 20, at 2:11 a.m., when Sylvan Lake RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the southwest area of the community.

Mounties say their preliminary investigation has revealed that an unknown individual(s) travelling in a small dark car drove by and fired several shots at a residence. Fortunately, no one was injured but the incident did result in damage to property.

Sylvan Lake General Investigation Section (GIS) has taken over the investigation.

As this is an active investigation, police are asking for the public’s assistance with any information in relation to the incident or identifying those responsible.
