Wildfire in Parkland County no longer causing imminent danger

May 8, 2021 | 11:33 AM

A wildfire in Parkland County is no longer causing imminent danger to life and property.

As of 11:13 a.m. Saturday morning, Alberta Emergency Alert says the Evacuation Order issued early Friday morning has been lifted. It could be re-implemented of circumstances change.

The main area of concern had been west of Tomahawk, between Highway 22 and Range Road 63, and between Township Road 510 and 524.

“A State of Local Emergency is still in effect and this area remains the scene of an active and large wildfire. Residents who live in the impacted area should be prepared to evacuate with limited notice should conditions change. Roads within the area have been limited to local traffic only. Road conditions may be poor due to weather and heavy equipment from fire response.”
