May 6, 2021 | 4:16 PM

Investigators are looking into the cause of a single-vehicle collision at Penhold’s busiest intersection Thursday morning.

Officials say a vehicle heading northbound on Highway 2A collided with a roadside guard rail near Highway 42 shortly after 9:00 a.m. Thursday.

“We arrived on scene shortly after 9:00 a.m. to find a single vehicle collision. The driver was with RCMP,” says Lt. Jamie Southwell from the Penhold Volunteer Fire Department, in a press release.

“There was a large amount of debris covering Highway 2A and Highway 42 in all directions of travel. There were no reported injuries, the vehicle came to a stop on the adjacent side of the highway and was stabilized by our firefighters.”
