Tickets, warnings issued in traffic safety blitz near Bentley

Several tickets and written warnings for minor traffic violations were issued by law enforcement officers near Bentley on Thursday.
Staff Sergeant Jeff McBeth with Sylvan Lake RCMP detachment says the initiative took place at approximately 11:30 a.m. when Community Peace Officers from Lacombe County partnered with members from the Sylvan Lake RCMP, RCMP Traffic Services, Sheriff Service and CP Rail Police Service to conduct a traffic enforcement operation in the community.
McBeth says the focus was on traffic safety through public education and enforcement.
He says comments from the majority of motorists stopped by the officers was very positive, and notes that even Mayor Greg Rathjen stopped by to thank members for their efforts in keeping the community safe.
