AHS encourages you to take small steps for your mental well-being
We are all faced with stressful times, especially as we continue to face the impacts of COVID-19. During Mental Health Week, May 3 – 9, Alberta Health Services is reminding Albertans of the small steps they can take for their mental well-being.
Small things can have a big impact on your mental health and ability to bounce back from adversity. Building a healthy routine, limiting media use, and learning to manage your worries as well as mindfulness and other coping skills can all have a positive impact.
During this week the AHS Central Zone will acknowledge and celebrate Mental Health Week with the following events in Red Deer:
– School students and staff across the city are encouraged to take part in a 3 km Aloha School Run to celebrate health and wellness. The run will be separated by class cohorts, staggered across a route, and comply with COVID-19 protocols. Schools will decide if the event is feasible for them based on current pandemic restrictions. The event is sponsored by Move Your Mood, SPARC and the PCN Women’s Fun Run, with donations being collected for the Mustard Seed’s school lunch program.
