Dr. Hinshaw shares COVID-19 update for April 22

Alberta’s chief medical officer of health is set to provide her latest update on the COVID-19 situation in the province.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw will speak during a news conference scheduled for 3:30 p.m. You can watch the news conference below once it begins.

On Wednesday, Alberta reported 1,699 new COVID-19 cases and a test positivity rate of 9.5 per cent.

Health officials confirmed another 1,332 variant cases. Variants of the original novel coronavirus now make up almost 60 per cent of the province’s active cases.
