St. Martin de Porres student receives honourable mention in ASTAC poster contest
Oghenemine Okoro a Grade 5 student from St. Martin de Porres School received Honourable Mention in the Alberta Student Transportation Advisory Council (ASTAC) poster contest.
This is what Oghenemine says about her drawing: “I wanted to create a colourful, exciting picture recognizing our bus drivers as the superheroes they are each day. Each day they safely drive us to school and are always there to help us! I really wanted to thank them for what they do.”
“Safely transporting our students is our passion daily. This yearly contest helps discussion about the rules in a fun and artistic way and brings forward their insight and talents,” said Transportation Manager, Shevon Medicraft at Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools.
“We are so very proud of Oghenemine’s artwork! The visual arts are definitely a focus in our fine arts school and it is always great when our students can use their God-given gifts and talents to recognize the amazing work our bus drivers do each and every day to ensure student safety,” said Principal, Dorice de Champlain at St. Martin de Porres School.
