1,699 new COVID cases in Alberta Wednesday

EDMONTON, AB– Due to a technical problem, the government of Alberta has released only limited COVID-19 data for Wednesday, April 21.

Over the past 24 hours, there were 1,699 new cases confirmed out of 18,412 tests across the province for a positivity rate of about 9.5%.

There are now 18,873 active cases in Alberta.

“We have confirmed another 1,332 variant cases in the last 24 hours. Variants now make up about 59% of active cases in the province,” tweeted Dr. Deena Hinshaw.
