Correctional Service Canada (CSC) is reporting the death of an inmate at Drumheller Institution.
CSC says at the time of the male inmate’s death on April 15, he had been serving a sentence of two years for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Possession of a Schedule I/II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking since Dec. 9, 2020.
A spokesperson says though there has been a COVID-19 outbreak at the institution for some time, the inmate’s death is not currently believed to be linked.
His name and age are not being released out of respect for the family’s wishes.
