Brazeau County council passes final budget for 2021
Brazeau County council has passed the final budget for 2021, and says it reflects council’s ongoing focus of putting residents and economic development first.
The budget maintains service levels and offers taxpayers relief, with no new fees or increases to current fees in the budget. Administration found efficiencies in order to support council’s direction not to increase taxes.
It also includes a 30 percent tax rebate for residential, farmland, and commercial property owners who pay the full amount of their taxes by the due date of June 30, 2021. This is the sixth year council has granted a municipal tax rebate to commercial businesses in Brazeau County and the second year the rebate has also been applied to residential and farmland properties.
“This was a team effort with administration and council to create our sixth balanced budget,” says Reeve Bart Guyon. “We have worked within our means as all governments should. We believe strongly in leaving as much money as possible in taxpayers’ pockets.”
