Tim De Ruyck has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Schools and Chief Executive Officer for Wolf Creek School Division (Wolf Creek Public Schools) effective September 1, 2021.

De Ruyck spent 26 years as an educator in Manitoba – first as a teacher, vice-principal, principal and Assistant Superintendent with Mountain View School Division in Dauphin, and as a Superintendent with Turtle Mountain School Division for the past seven and a half years.

De Ruyck has been an active member of the Manitoba Association of School Superintendents, served on various Association committees, chaired the south-west regional M.A.S.S. group, and has also published a number of articles in the M.A.S.S. quarterly journal.

He has a strong practical and theoretical background in educational leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Manitoba with a major in business education and a minor in English. He has also earned a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from the University of Calgary.

“We welcome Mr. De Ruyck to the Wolf Creek family and look forward to working with him to continue our pursuit of providing high-quality education for our students,” said Board Chair Pamela Hansen.

“Tim was selected from a field of truly outstanding candidates. We believe that his focus on student learning, his strong work commitment and his ability to work collaboratively are an excellent fit for building on the current strengths of Wolf Creek School Division.”

“People who work within education systems are charged with caring for and being a part of developing the most precious resource we have, our children. This is a tremendous responsibility, and it has been an honor for me to be involved in a profession where I can make a contribution to the education of children,” says De Ruyck.

“I believe all students must have a safe and stimulating learning environment, and that within that environment student diversity is to be celebrated. All students must have a strong sense of belonging within their school community.”

Tim and his wife Sherry have three children, Jacob, Emma, and Mason.
