Drayton Valley RCMP Report: March 25 – April 1

March 25

1:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Request to conduct a wellbeing check on individual. Members attended residence and confirmed the individual was fine. They had the ringer turned down on their phone.

6:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant called detachment to report another individual was being loud. Members attended, both individuals were intoxicated. Members provided courtesy ride to complainant to another residence.

6:31 pm – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver wanted on outstanding warrant and held for bail hearing. Driver also issued a violation ticket for driving an uninsured vehicle.

9:46 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant calling to report people trespassing at the landfill. Member attended and patrolled the area. Trespasser had left prior to arrival.

March 26

4:44 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant calling to report a trespasser. Male wearing a black hoodie and a backpack. Member attended and patrolled the area, male not located.

9:13 am – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Report of a tank truck that has crossed the center line multiple times. Vehicle not located.

9:21 am – Drayton Valley – 42 street – Mischief to vehicle, driver side door handle damaged but no entry to the vehicle was gained. Multiple vehicles damaged in the area. No suspects or witnesses.

10:34 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Request for a well being check. Members attended residence but no one was home. Members located the residence and confirmed that everything was okay.

10:49 am – Drayton Valley – 20 avenue – Report of an attempted theft of truck. Caucasian male jumped into complainant’s truck while he was in the store. Complainant came out and the suspect got out of the truck and ran to a waiting black Dodge Ram truck. No licence plate obtained, no suspects.

3:01 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Boulevard – Hit and Run MVC in Khal’s parking lot. Still under investigation.

3:14 pm – Drayton Valley – HW Pickup – Report of possible harassing communications. Member spoke to principal to address the issues and work on a plan to stop any further problems. No criminal offence occurred.

5:50 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 624 – Report of an erratic driver on Hwy 624. Patrols made but vehicle was not located. No licence plate provided.

6:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Brougham Drive – Request for a well-being check. Members attended the Holiday Inn and spoke to the subject, everything was okay.

9:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 street – Report of a suspicious person in complainant’s back yard. Members made patrols of the area subject was not located.

10:13 – Drayton Valley – Omniplex parking lot – Report of 30 people gathered in the parking lot. Members attended the location. No unusual activity.

March 27

2:01 am – Drayton Valley – 52 avenue – Report of a vehicle alarm going off. Members attended the location and found a welding truck with the doors open. Members followed the footprints in the snow but due to the heavy snowfall, they lost the tracks.

2:43 am – Drayton Valley – 7-Eleven – Report of an unwanted male refusing to leave the restroom. Members attended the location and removed the male.

6:44 AM – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Complainant reporting their blue 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was stolen overnight.

7:37 am – Drayton Valley – 911 report of a domestic assault. Members attended location. Both parties were intoxicated and high. Unclear what happened and both declined to cooperate with police. Both parties were separated for the night.

10:30 am – Brazeau County – RR 90 – Theft of snowmobile. Tire tracks in the snow but melted to slush. No suspects or witnesses at this time. SUI.

12:01 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting their ex is threatening them. Members attended, then located ex. Ex advised to stop. No Threats to safety of complainant.

7:46 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for failing to stop at stop sign.

10:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting someone lighting fireworks off at the trailer court. Members patrolled the area however no one located.

11:46 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant called to report a male in their yard. Male had been in the residence earlier and had been kicked out. Members attended, male had left. Complainant would not provide any details about the male.

March 28

12:09 am – Brazeau County – Landfill – Complainant reporting they observed a white 4 door car drive onto the Landfill site. Occupants are going through the bins. Members attended and located vehicle. Driver on conditions not to be driving. Driver arrested and charged. Vehicle towed.

1:08 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – MAT program called to report known female was being disruptive. Members attended, female had left prior to arrival.

1:38 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Park – Complainant reporting a lot of noise coming from a trailer. Sounds like they are tearing apart the trailer. Member attended, no noise heard, nothing out of the ordinary observed.

2:13 am – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Complainant reporting a male wearing glasses, ball cap, and carrying a backpack climbed behind the dumpster. Members attended and patrolled area, male not located. Complainant advised the male had taken off.

7:43 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on male who they observed standing in the middle of the river on ice. Members attended location and located male walking under the bridge. Male had been taking pictures. Advised to stay off the ice as it is very unstable.

7:56 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft. Their black 2012 Chevrolet Silverado had been stolen overnight. Complainant has all keys and vehicle was locked.

9:35 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting damage to signs. Several signs had been shot with a shotgun. Evidence left behind. Matter is still under investigation.

1:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 44A Street – Complainant reporting dirt bikes on land. Members attended area, no sounds of dirt bikes or ATV’s heard.

5:28 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a stop sign is down. Member contacted county who attended.

10:17 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Call of a possible impaired driver. Police attended the area and located the vehicle. The driver was given the mandatory alcohol screening, which they failed. They were subsequently given provincial sanctions including a 90-day license suspension, 30 day vehicle seizure and $1000 fine.

March 29

4:55 am – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – A secured compound was broken into overnight and a blue 2005 Chevrolet ¾ tonne pickup truck with Alberta license plate E87945 was stolen.

8:23 am – Drayton Valley – 40 Avenue – Police received a request to assist EMS with a confused patient. Members attended and were able to convince the patient to go with EMS.

8:53 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a semi passing on a solid line, patrols made, vehicle not located.

10:17 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Call of a possible impaired driver. Police attended the area and located the vehicle. The driver was given the mandatory alcohol screening which they failed. They were subsequently given provincial sanctions including a 90-day license suspension, 330-day vehicle seizure, and a $1000 fine.

10:41 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Vehicle parked on the street with no license plate. Police attended, the owner came out and was advised to remove the vehicle from the road.

10:46 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 624 – Abandoned vehicle on the side of the highway.

1:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Call from the hospital to locate a patient that left the hospital. The patient was located in a vehicle in the parking lot.

2:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 64 Street – Suspicious activity near a residence. Police attended, nobody was located in the area.

3:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – License plate stolen or lost from a vehicle over the weekend.

3:35 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a vehicle with tinted taillights that was a traffic hazard.

5:26 pm – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Report of a driver racing through the area. Police attended, the vehicle could not be located.

5:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Call of an unwanted person in the utility room of a building. Police attended, nobody was inside when police arrived.

8:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 39 Avenue – Report of an injured deer. A member attended, the deer saw the police and ran off.

9:06 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Park – Suspicious vehicle. Police attended, vehicle was not stolen and no indication of anything other than a possible parking infraction.

March 30

12:24 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle in the area. Black Ford truck is being pushed by 2 persons. Persons were picked up. Members attended, vehicle located, registered, appears vehicle broke down.

4:54 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting vehicle went through a fence and hit a tree. Driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital.

8:35 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting female is at the hospital and causing a disturbance. Member attended, female transported.

2:27 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver, possibly impaired. Vehicle is a black Jeep. Member located vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Female driver not intoxicated, had been distracted by toddler in the back seat.

6:35 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Request to assist peace officer with traffic stop. Vehicle had fled. Vehicle described as early 90’s Buick Lesabre with a broken windshield. Member patrolled area, vehicle not located.

8:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious male walking up and down the street with an axe. Members patrolled the area, male not located.

11:55 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Complainant reporting a disturbance. Male is outside yelling and smashing things. Member attended residence, all quiet.

March 31

1:03 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting loud music. Members attended, occupant would not open the door. Noise ticket to be issued.

6:33 am – Drayton Valley – Twp 491 – Suspicious vehicle at a business. Police attended and located a male sleeping in a vehicle. The vehicle was determined to not have insurance and was towed and the occupant was ticketed.

7:05 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Report that it appeared someone spent the night in the laundry room of a apartment. Police attended, suspect was already gone.

11:37 am – Drayton Valley – HW Pickup – Police were called to assist with locating a youth who had left the school. Before police could arrive, the school advised the parents had located the youth.

12:28 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Complaint of uttering threats. Police obtained statements, the complainant did not wish to participate in a criminal investigation. Members spoke with all parties, appeared to have been a verbal altercation at a workplace, no grounds for charges.

12:32 pm – Brazeau County – RR 75 – Neighbour dispute on a rural property.

1:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 39 Street – Police were called to a landlord/tenant dispute. Police advised the matter was civil and police could not interject.

1:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Report of a found needle. Police attended and disposed of it in a sharps container.

2:01 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Police were called regarding a mental health call. The person was located, no concerns were noted.

3:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Report of a suspicious vehicle. Police attended and determined the driver was violating a probation order by possessing and consuming marijuana. The driver was arrested and charges are pending for failing to comply with a probation order and was issued a 24 hour driving suspension.

9:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complaint of a homeless person refusing to leave a property. Police attended, the male left without further issue.

10:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a fight at a lounge. Police attended and determined it was a consensual fight, parties were separated.

April 1

5:41 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a semi partially blocking the driving lane, 4-way flashers on. Police attended, semi was gone.

6:57 am – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Theft from a vehicle overnight. Blue tote with company books and papers and change stolen.

7:50 am – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Theft from a garage overnight. Blue tote from the previous call was left behind but 2 bicycles stolen, the first is a black 2015 Cannondale mountain bike, the other was a green Trek mountain bike.

8:15 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Found property, determined to have been stolen sometime overnight.

9:07 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Found wallet, police contacted the owner.
