Reopened its doors

Library open and seeking input on its future

Along with others in the province’s Step 2 reopening, the Rocky Mountain House Public Library has reopened its doors to the public at 15 per cent of fire code occupancy, not including staff.

Although the library is open to the public, they are aware that some may still not feel comfortable being there and are continuing to offer a curbside pickup. As an added safety measure the library holds any returned items for an additional three days before checking them back in.

Rocky Mountain House Library Manager Ben Worth noted that in the past year they have seen a large increase in the usage of digital resources such as eBooks and Audiobooks.

“Though, throughout all of the closures we continued to provide curbside services so that community members still have access to physical materials as well as printing, scanning, and faxing.”

Obtaining a library card to access the online service is free for Rocky and Clearwater County residents here.

As the pandemic enters its second year, the library is looking for ways that they could improve their services, as well as letting people know what they already provide.

The Library is seeking the public’s assistance in choosing its direction for the next five years with a community survey that closes March 31.

To encourage feedback, they have said they will be entering names into a draw to win gift cards to local businesses such as Cucina, Rocky Mountain Mudd, Copper Creek Cafe, and Cherubs Gifts & Home Decor.
