Woman hit by truck west of Rocky dies

RCMP in Rocky Mountain House are investigating the death of a woman who was hit by a vehicle over the weekend.

Police say in a release that the woman was walking in the eastbound lane of Highway 11A, approx. three kilometres west of Rocky Mountain House, at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 27) when she was struck by an eastbound pickup truck.

The woman passed away despite lifesaving efforts at the scene by emergency personnel.

RCMP have not released the name or age of the deceased.
