Kenney, Hinshaw to provide COVID-19 update Monday afternoon

Premier Jason Kenney says Alberta is ready to “safely and cautiously” move to Step 2 of the province’s relaunch.

Kenney says measures are being eases for indoor facilities and libraries.

However, changes for hotels, banquets and conference centres, retail, and children’s sports and performance are being delayed to Step 3.

Kenney says the province is seeing a sharp decline in hospitalizations, from 900 people in hospital at the peak to 257 today.

Cases in long-term care have declined by 95 per cent from December’s peak.
