The Wild Rose School Divison’s Superintendent has provided the Board with a plan to form a committee to consider possible name changes for the newest replacement school in Drayton Valley.

On February 17, the Alberta government announced $36.4 million in provincial funding for a new school to replace H.W. Pickup Jr. High School, which has been dealing with structural issues from ground instability.

H.W. Pickup School and Drayton Christian School will both relocate to a new replacement school that will be built near Frank Maddock High School.

The committee will be represented by parent and staff stakeholders and they may consider one common campus name for the new building, in addition to having two school names.
