Red Deer County resident cashes in after lotto win

A resident of Red Deer County’s pockets are a little deeper this week after a win on the LOTTO MAX.

Ronald Stright won $190,399 on the Jan. 1 draw, according to the AGLC.

His ticket was even a free one which he redeemed at the Fas Gas in Penhold. He scanned his ticket and discovered he’d won just a few days after the draw.

“I didn’t know I had won anything until I scanned the ticket at the store,” said Stright. “I was shocked. I started shaking. I was kind of a mess.”

The lucky winner is now making plans for his winnings after taking some time to process.

“I’ll do the responsible things – pay some bills and invest,” he said. “But honestly, I’m just happy that I’ll be able to relax.”

Stright won the second-top LOTTO MAX prize by matching six out of the seven drawn numbers and the bonus number – 18, 21, 28, 29, 32, 49 and the bonus, 38.
