Survey Says!

Town of Innisfail seeks public input through recreational facility survey

Feb 11, 2021 | 2:09 PM

Officials with the Town of Innisfail are seeking public input on the potential development or redevelopment of new and existing recreation facilities in the community.

Innisfail residents are invited to offer feedback through an online survey accessible through the Town of Innisfail website and via the Town’s communications channels.

A number of options are currently being explored around both the Innisfail Aquatic Centre and the feasibility/viability of a multiplex recreational community facility connected to the Twin Arena Building.

Accordingly, input is now being sought from stakeholders on the proposed renovation, expansion or reconstruction of the Innisfail Aquatic Centre and/or the development of a multiplex.

“It is important that we hear from the public regarding the development of future recreational facilities in Innisfail because our facilities will help determine the identity of our community for years to come. This survey provides people with an opportunity to help shape that identity.” said Innisfail Mayor Jim Romane, in a release.

Since 2013, officials say the Town of Innisfail has conducted two building assessment reports and one public engagement survey assessing the best options for the future of the Innisfail Aquatic Centre. These studies determined that investment is required in the Aquatic Centre to address deferred building maintenance, meet current accessibility standards, and provide improved amenities for the community.

Public feedback will be received until Mar. 1.
