Chair sought for Intermunicipal Subdivision and Development Appeal Board

Red Deer County and The City of Red Deer invite letters of interest from persons who may be interested in being appointed as the Chairperson of the Intermunicipal Subdivision and Development Appeal Board.

This is a Quasi-Judicial Board that hears appeals arising from Subdivision and Development Permit decisions for properties located within the City’s Growth Area and the Collaborative Planning Areas and Agricultural and Open Space Area and that are currently located within Red Deer County (as shown on Map 1 in the City/County IDP). This Board also acts as the Intermunicipal Disagreement Resolution Board as noted in the IDP.

This seven-member Board will meet as required, and the meetings are held during the day, Monday to Friday (normally an 8:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. start time). Board members receive an honorarium for their participation in these hearings. The successful candidate is required to complete mandatory provincial appeal board training prior to hearing an appeal.
