Mustard Seed’s Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser goes ahead virtually
The 10th annual Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser put on by The Mustard Seed, like many fundraising events, has gone virtual this year.
Though the actual date of the event is February 20, throughout the entire month you can walk virtually outside with The Mustard Seed in this family-friendly initiative and help support people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger.
“The Coldest Night of the year is an opportunity for individuals in the community to walk a mile or two in the shoes of the most vulnerable. There are almost 150 people are homeless in Red Deer,” says Scott Tilbury, Senior Fund Development Officers with The Mustard Seed in Red Deer.
“Consider the elements that many in our community brave every night every day, what’s it’s like to walk a great distance. It’s a challenge for individuals in need of food, in need of warmth, in need of shelter.”
