Crews respond to fire at home in Sylvan Lake

Sylvan Lake Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a single-family dwelling Saturday night.

Sixteen members and four apparatus attended the fire around 8:30 at 57 Lodge Place.

“We responded to a single-family structure, with heavy smoke showing, and extinguished the fire located in the kitchen area,” a media brief says.

The fire department also confirmed there were no injuries to people, though two family dogs did sadly pass away.

The fire remains under investigation.
