Central Alberta Humane Society announces departure of executive director

Feb 4, 2021 | 1:26 PM

The Central Alberta Humane Society is embarking on a search for a new operational leader following the departure of Executive Director, Tara Hellewell.

In a release issued Feb. 4, officials say the Board of Directors wishes to acknowledge Tara’s many accomplishments and contributions to the Central Alberta Humane Society over her tenure, and wish her well in all her future endeavors.

As a result, Matthew Redman has stepped down from Board Chair with the Central Alberta Humane Society Board of Directors to assume an interim position as Executive Director, effective immediately, and assist in the transition for the Society and Membership.

Officials with the organization say the search for a new Executive Director provides an opportunity for the Board of Directors to examine the current direction and recalibrate in order to have a greater impact for the animals and people in the Central Alberta community.
