Cam Clark Ford and Ford of Canada donate vehicles to RDC

Feb 3, 2021 | 9:36 AM

Ford of Canada and Cam Clark Ford have donated two new vehicles to Red Deer College to be used for its automotive training programs.

The donation will provide students with the opportunity to get hands-on training with some of the latest technology available in vehicles.

“The students at Red Deer College in the AST program will benefit from these vehicles because it is new and up to date technology,” said David Pye, Associate Dean in the School of Trades and Technologies at RDC.

The Cam Clark Ford team will also provide RDC instructors and students with access to their Ace Training Program in place for their own technicians, keeping RDC up-to-date with industry standards.

“We are extremely excited have the donation. It’s not very often you get to have industry partners that support you in a meaningful way, not only with the vehicles but also with all the information and training to help support the training for the students, and it also gives our faculty members another resource to help to stay up to date in the industry,” said Pye.

The vehicles, a 2020 Ford Expedition & 2020 F-150 pickup truck, were damaged during flooding in Fort McMurray last May and underwent minor repairs as required, and a thorough cleaning completed by the dealership.

“I thought it was really great that our community gets this opportunity for the students that are there so that when (they) are back in the classroom they’ll have access to some of the latest technology,” said Robyn Pedersen, Service Manager at Cam Clark Ford in Red Deer.
