Red Deer Hospice Society launches community gift matching in February

Throughout the month of February, every gift made to the Red Deer Hospice Society will be matched by the Red Deer Twilight Homes Foundation (to a maximum of $10,000 from Twilight Homes, and a combined total of $20,000 generously donated funds).

All donations made through this community matching initiative will support the palliative care needs of the people of Red Deer and our surrounding communities.

“We are so fortunate to be able to partner with an incredible local community builder to raise money for end of life care in Central Alberta,” shared Jerri Taylor, Executive Director at the Red Deer Hospice Society. “It’s great for donors to know that every dollar they give in February give equals two!”

Current COVID-19 restrictions have prevented Red Deer Hospice from holding traditional fundraising events, including their yearly Gala which has typically been their largest fundraising event. “It has been a perfect storm in terms of needing to get creative to find new ways to raise funds in a very tough economy while balancing the increased operational costs resulting from the pandemic,” said Taylor.

The Red Deer Twilight Homes Foundation has been a long-time supporter of the Red Deer Hospice Society as they were instrumental in both the initial construction of the house in 2005 and the recent expansion in 2019 to sixteen resident rooms.
