Blackfalds RCMP investigating fatal crash northeast of Lacombe

Blackfalds RCMP along with an RCMP collision analyst are investigating a fatal crash northeast of Lacombe Saturday night that claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman.

Mounties say it happened on Jan. 23 at approximately 5:00 p.m., when officers responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Highway 815 at the intersection of Township Road 412.

Police say their preliminary investigation reveals a south bound pickup truck collided with an eastbound car.

The driver of the eastbound car was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the driver and passenger of the southbound pickup truck suffered minor injuries.

RCMP say no further updates are anticipated and the name of the deceased will not be released.
