First Nations outbreak continues

Alberta supplies Maskwacis with limited number of COVID-19 vaccines

Alberta’s Indigenous Relations Minister says a limited number of COVID-19 vaccines have been supplied to four First Nations south of Edmonton to deal with a rising number of cases.

Rick Wilson announced yesterday evening that the doses were provided to Maskwacis Health Services on an emergency basis to deal with the outbreak.

Wilson says delays caused by the vaccine manufacturer and a lack of supply from the federal government mean the vaccine rollout to First Nations communities has been delayed.
