Curtis Labelle excited for release of new single under new management

Curtis Labelle, a Canadian rock pianist from Red Deer, made quite the name for himself over the past year, and he’s now under new management.

Not only that, the 37-year-old’s latest single is set for release on Jan. 29.

Labelle is now working with Toronto-based Allen Music Management, which is run by CJ Allen, an executive producer of The Shot. Labelle reached the latter stages of The Shot, a national competition, in 2020.

The single, which will be available worldwide on all major distribution platforms, is called Run Run Away. The track is said to represent the sound of classic rock piano with an electric guitar flair for the new age.

“It has been an exciting few months since The Shot. I may not have been the winner, but what has come out of being a part of the journey has been a dream to say the least,” Labelle shares with rdnewsNOW. “Since October I have been truly working harder than ever, creating and developing music, as well as growing my business of music.”

Labelle adds that he recently finished working with Juno-nominated producer Mark Troyer at Calgary-based Evergreen Sound, where they developed and recorded the new single.

“I’m also very excited to have the newest member of the band join us, Logan Klaus on guitar, who was runner up of The Shot Remastered Season 8,” he tells. “On top of having Logan join the band, I am grateful to continue to have the best members ever, Nygel Lauzon on drums and Matt Dubois on bass. Having these three great musicians help create and develop my music is a serious treat.”

Having a manager now ups the game for Labelle, who admits what he’s doing isn’t a walk in the park. But it helps to have more people in his corner, including Allen and husband Jared, he acknowledges.

“Deadlines and other duties are more relevant than ever and I’m filled with joy to say it’s the best part so far. Being under new management, we have been re-branding my image, there’s fresh music and sound, and a new look. Presentation is everything,” he says.

“Developing my team and moving into the next round of the music industry has given my music and I bigger strides, with more dreams coming true. The great thing is I won’t have to relocate, and once COVID settles down, there will be more opportunities.”
