Climber dies on Crowsnest Mountain

RCMP say a 31-year-old man has died while climbing alone on Crowsnest Mountain in southwestern Alberta.

The Mounties say they were dispatched to an area known as “the chutes” on Saturday night following a report of an injured hiker.

They say search and rescue crews trying to find the man had to turn back due to high winds, darkness and the potential for avalanches.

Search crews found the hiker the next day but he had died of injuries.
