Drayton Valley RCMP Report: December 30 – January 7

December 30

11:02 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Member on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle parked behind the post office. Driver’s door handle and ignition of the truck had been punched out. Truck had a stolen plate on it. Vehicle towed.

1:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious activity at one of the residences.

1:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant requesting members conduct a wellbeing check on individuals at residence. Members attended, no issues.

10:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting an unwanted male in the vestibule of the bank. Member attended, male is known to police and is homeless. Male was shivering and attempting to get warm against the heater. Male provided a courtesy ride to a warm place.

11:00 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle on the road near a battery plant. Member attended and located vehicle with 4 occupants. Looking for a place to eat their McDonalds.

11:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a family dispute between siblings. Members attended and arrested one male for the dispute.

December 31

7:44 am – Rocky Rapids area – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle in a field.

9:04 am – Cynthia – Report of theft from a lease site. Police responded to a theft of ground lines and batteries. Major damage was done to the area. 2 vehicle tracks were left behind. RCMP have suspects. The investigation is ongoing.

11:34 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting they found some keys. Member attended and picked up keys. Placed in lost and found at the Detachment.

4:57 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a fight on the bridge over the North Saskatchewan River. Members attended and located a female having a mental health crisis. Female taken to hospital.

5:47 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting a quad inside the fence at the transfer station. Member attended, compound was secure and no quads observed.

6:03 pm – Drayton Valley – RCMP member spotted a suspicious vehicle on 50 St. The licence plate on the vehicle was not a match. Traffic stop was initiated, however, the vehicle fled. Due to traffic in the area member discontinued traffic stop. Vehicle was described as a dark grey 2007 Dodge Charger. Plate ending in 495. If the vehicle is located contact Drayton Valley RCMP.

10:24 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant called to report a suspicious vehicle parked in front of the mailboxes. Member attended, occupant was on the phone talking with some friends. Lives on the other side of the road.

January 1, 2021

Happy New Year

2:36 am – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer Court – Complainant reporting ex is intoxicated. A verbal argument had taken place. Parties separated for the night.

2:59 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant calling to report female breaching curfew.

5:08 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St. – Member was traveling north on 50 St near Petro South when he noticed a vehicle where the driver seemed impaired by alcohol. Traffic stop was initiated and the driver was issued an immediate roadside suspension under the new traffic laws for the province of Alberta.

6:54 am – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Police responded to a possible impaired driver who had veered into the ditch near the Tomahawk turn off. The driver was found to be impaired and was issued an immediate roadside suspension. As the driver had previous offences, further punishment was issued on the driver.

8:54 am – Drayton Valley – Police responded to an assault with a weapon near Heidi Ann apartments. Statements were taken from multiple people. A bat was used to strike another male in the upper arm. All parties are known to each other. Investigation is ongoing.

11:02 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a break and enter to residence. No break and enter. Had observed a known female peering through the window. Matter is still under investigation.

5:22 pm – Tomahawk – Drayton Valley members responded to a complaint of an assault with a weapon that occurred the night before. At a house party, a male was struck over the head with a beer bottle. The investigation is ongoing and Evansburg RCMP are assisting with the investigation.

January 2

8:24 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle over the past two days. Vehicle is a white Chevrolet Crewcab on a lease road. Member contacted the registered owner who advised he was wolf hunting on crown land.

10:24 am – Drayton Valley – 42 Street – Complainant reporting their 2018 Black GMC Diesel truck stolen from residence. Vehicle was unlocked, spare set of keys in centre console. Wallet and tools left in vehicle.

5:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter to main entrance. Door broken around noon.

January 3

2:10 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle has been parked in the parking lot for past few hours. Vehicle is not running. Vehicle is a grey SUV with one occupant and dog inside. Member attended and spoke with occupant who advised they were too tired to drive home and stopped to get a hotel room, however, policy does not allow dogs.

12:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 39 Street – Complainant reporting a landlord-tenant issue. Advised to contact the landlord-tenant dispute board.

1:05 am – Cynthia – Complainant reporting an abandoned beige Ford Explorer looks like it has been shot at and left at an abandoned lease site. Member located vehicle which was frozen in the snow.

2:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting they evicted some tenants who are now harassing their workers.

6:28 pm – Drayton Valley – 41A Avenue – Complainant reporting attempted theft of 2005 blue Ford F-250. Locks have been drilled out.

January 4

9:02 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting a dispute. Members attended, complainant advised that extended family member had busted down the door to the basement. Members arrested male for mischief and breaching conditions of no contact.

10:23 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting theft of catalytic converters over the weekend. Stolen from 2020 F-350 and one from a customer vehicle.

11:06 am – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Complainant noted damage to their bumper after being parked for two days.

12:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Request to assist EMS with male who was on the ground. Male wearing flip flops, sweatpants, and a black hoodie. EMS transported male prior to member’s arrival.

12:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended detachment to report wallet stolen while skiing at Marmot Basin.

3:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Complainant reporting vandalism to their vehicle. Emblem stolen off vehicle.

3:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting someone broke into their vehicle overnight. The front seat was laid back and glove box was open. No damage and nothing stolen.

4:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Centre Court Trailer Court – Complainant reporting possible individuals who stole their vehicle. Members attended and located two known individuals, male and female. Male arrested for outstanding warrants.

4:43 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a black older Dodge Caravan. No lights. Vehicle is passing persons dangerously. Members patrolled area, vehicle not located.

10:16 pm – Complainant requesting to speak with a member regarding a custody issue.

January 5

9:35 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting they were westbound on a township road when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with the front driver’s side of their vehicle.

9:48 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting someone kicked in the front door of their residence. Member attended, spouse had kicked in the door while intoxicated.

11:03 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting they were near RR 72 when they collided with a deer.

12:18 pm – Brazeau County – RR 72 – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Vehicle was a two-tone beige and blue Ford pickup. Information passed onto Evansburg as the vehicle was near Seba Beach.

12:23 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant was southbound on Hwy 22 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with the vehicle.

4:25 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant called 911 to complain that there was someone following them down a hill. Member attended area and made patrols. No further information was received.

5:31 pm – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a small silver 4 door hatchback. Driver passing on double solid line and speeding. Members patrolled the area, vehicle not located.

5”32 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting receiving harassing messages. Member advised to block the number. Further advised to document dates and times.

6:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious vehicles in the parking lot. Members attended location, vehicle had left prior to arrival.

9:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle parked at the location for the past half hour. Vehicle is a black hatchback, newer model. Vehicle had just left town. Member patrolled the area, vehicle not located.

January 6

Drayton Valley – Centre Court Trailer Court – Complainants are reporting one of the other tenants has been uttering threats to them. Matter is still under investigation.

6:09 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting an assault. Members attended residence. No signs of physical assault. Complainant wanted to retrieve their belongings.

11:37 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant reporting a purple gravel truck cut them off at an intersection. Gravel truck is traveling eastbound. Members not in a position to locate vehicle, forwarded to Breton Detachment.

11:52 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting they were driving on Hwy 620 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.

11:49 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Complainant reporting they lost a wedding ring when they stopped in Drayton Valley to stretch their legs.

12:40 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reporting they were traveling northbound when a deer came out of the east ditch and collided with their vehicle.

1:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting fraudulent withdrawal of $90.00. A legitimate $90 amount was emailed to another person, however, this one was fraudulent.

1:49 pm – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on an individual in one of the suites. Person had not been seen or heard from in several days. Members attended and located individual alive and well.

2:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 911 hangup received from hospital. Ongoing issue. Members attended, no emergency.

1:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Several complaints received regarding a COVID-19 non-compliant individual. Members attended with health inspector. Violation ticket to be issued.

4:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on a person in Calgary. Members attended an address in Drayton Valley and located the individual who was fine.

4:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant called to report a work trailer had been left open and wanted it checked. Members attended, work in progress on site.

5:56 pm – Brazeau County – RR 70 – Complainant requesting a welfare check on an individual. Members attended, person is fine.

6:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant called from Rocky Mountain House advising that their boyfriend had taken their keys and purse 4 days ago. Member spoke with all parties. Matter is still under investigation

10:46 pm – 55 Avenue – Complainant reporting their neighbour is being loud and causing a disturbance.

January 7

6:19 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a smoldering fire outside a tent. Member attended and located known male in tent. Fire was out.
