Dec 24, 2020 | 11:07 AM

Alberta reported an estimated 1,100 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

That’s out of about 15,600 test results over the past 24 hours for a positivity rate of seven per cent.

Updated death and active case numbers were not provided.

A full update is not being shared today because of the Christmas holiday.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, said on Twitter that hospitalizations are “increasing” while ICU admissions are “stable.”

There will be no provincial COVID-19 update on Christmas Day. Preliminary info will be shared again on Dec. 26 and 27 before Dr. Hinshaw gives her next live update on Monday.

Red Deer had 358 active cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday, the lowest total reported in the city since 355 on Dec. 7.
